An emergency landing temporarily forced Philadelphia International Airport to close on Tuesday.

United Express flight 4882, a Q400 operated by Republic Airlines, left Raleigh/Durham just before 3pm bound for Newark. However, the aircraft's right engine caught fire. It was forced to divert to Philadelphia, landing on runway 27R.

All 75 passengers and crewmembers on board were safe. Buses came by the plane to take them to the terminal. The plane was towed off the runway around 4:50pm.

The airport was closed until 5pm. All runways reopened except for 27R.
